The arrangement of three leaves of the clover give it its scientific name ‘Trifolium”. Each of the leaves is said to represent something – the normal three leaves on a clover represent faith, hope and love. Occasionally you get a four-leaved clover and the fourth leaf is said to represent luck. If you find a four-leaved clover you will have good luck. But they are difficult to find – only one clover in ten thousand has four leaves. So good luck finding one!

The sugary scent from the cover flowers attracts bees and other insects. If you pull out one of the individual flowers and suck on the end you will find that it has a lovely sweet taste a bit like honey. Of course, this is what bees like and they use the pollen to make honey themselves.
